Former UK High Commissioner to Nigeria disagrees with Sowore over Peter Obi
Former UK High Commissioner to Nigeria, Paul Thomas Arkwright CMG replies African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate and publisher, Omoyele Sowore for criticising Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi’s trip to Egypt in an attempt to understudy the some of the African-Arab country’s sectors.
Peter Obi, yesterday, posted on his Twitter page that he was travelling to Egypt to understudy some of the country’s sectors, a tweet that generated mixed reactions among the Nigerian community on Twitter.
Sowore had criticised the move and referred to Peter Obi as an “unprepared candidate” in a tweet directed at the former Anambra State governor.
Heard @PeterObi traveled to Egypt to learn how to fix Education/Power problems, this is exactly the problem with unprepared candidates. It is 9 months to election & a two-term gov. & former VP candidate want to go learn something from Egypt in 3 days? Wow! #WeCantContinueLikeThis
However, former British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Paul Thomas Arkwright disagreed with the Sahara Reporters publisher and replied:
Would have thought that learning from other countries is key to turning round failing performance in Nigeria? Not all solutions are home grown. @PeterObi
Paul Thomas Arkwright is a British diplomat who was High Commissioner to the Federal Republic of Nigeria from 2015 to 2018.
