South African church conducts virginity test on female members
A church in South Africa conducts a virginity test to young single female members, awarding those who pass a certificate of virginity.
The Nazareth Baptist Church is located in Ebuhleni, a northern suburb of Durban, South Africa. The test is said to be an attempt to promote chastity among society’s ladies.
According to reports, the church performed a free virginity test on ladies aged 18 above who attend the church. It is an annual event organized by the church, and the successful candidates each obtained a “Certificate of Virginity” at the end.
A white purity mark was also placed on the virgins’ foreheads. The test is usually held in the middle of the year, and the certificate issued becomes invalid by the middle of the following year, when the church conducts the next virginity test.
The test for the 2022/2023 session was conducted this week and certificates were issued to the successful ladies.
